The Fundraiser is Coming, The Fundraiser is coming!!

Hello Chorus Nation! That's right, the fundraiser is coming up on October 1. This year we will be selling cookie dough, as usual, and a new kid to the neighborhood Indian River Fruit. Both of the items, cookie dough, and fruit, will all be bought from the same company. We are using a different company this year and it promises to be easier to buy/sell items. We will have our very own website and a link you can send to all of your family and friends to purchase right off of the web! They can have their purchases shipping to the school for you to deliver or they can have their purchase shipped directly to their house! How cool is that!
This Tuesday we will be sending out the web address and link for purchases. We will also be sending out the usual paper order forms as well. Students will be required to sell at least 10 items. This comes to about $100 a student. In order to be able to actually raise money one of two things will be required, 1) students will need to sell at least 10 items or 2) whatever is not sold will be added to the student account to collect. So the choice is yours. You can even just give me a check for $100 made out to ACA if you want to. Either way is fine with me.
I know fundraisers aren't the most fun thing in the world, but they are necessary. The fundraiser will the whole month of October and the goods will be delivered to the school just in time for Christmas.
Below is the link you can go to start selling and buying products. Just click on the product and it goes into your cart. Follow the check out sequence and don't forget to give the correct student credit for the sale. That's important!!! Then purchase. That's it. I've tested it myself and it's so easy it's crazy not to share this link with all of your friends and family. Thinking about a Christmas gift for that zany uncle living in Nevada? Send them some fruit or cookies. They will be delivered right to his house! Just make sure you make the correct selection on the VERY FIRST PAGE OF THE PRODUCTS PAGE!

All-State Audition Information

The All-State auditions are just around the corner and it's time to get serious about being prepared. Students should be working on these pieces at home every night, a little at a time, to make sure they are absolutely prepared for the audition. I will be hosting after-school rehearsals and mock auditions after school on Wednesday, October 17 and Wednesday, October 31. I will also host an after-school rehearsal time after school on October 24 but there will be no mock audition time that day. Rehearsals consist of you getting with your ensemble groups and reviewing the songs and getting feedback from your peers, who may have more experience than you, and myself.

Now for the details:

ACA's auditions are Friday, Nov. 2 from 8 am - 11 am. There are five different ensembles auditioning during this three hour time period. The times and ensembles are as follows:
SATB - 9 am and 10 am
SSA - 8 am and 9 am
TTBB - 8 am and 9:30 am
MS Mixed - 8:30 am
MS Treble - 9:00 am

If an ensemble has two different times then that means part of those auditioning go at one time and part go at another time. If there is only one time given then all you audition together.

HERE IS THE REALLY IMPORTANT PART: I need all students at St. James School no later than 7:30 am. You will need to be dropped off in front of the cafeteria and enter in that building. This is different than previous years as I am the district chair and running the auditions. I will already be at St. James that morning and be ready for you when you arrive. You will go into the cafeteria and wait until you are called for auditions. An ACA bus will come to St. James at 11 am to take those of you not staying to help me the rest of the day back to school. Only section leaders are allowed to stay and help me. I will need help that day and Saturday running the event. I have already talked to most of you about this. So if you are not a section leader in Concert Chorus then you will go back to school and return to your normal day by 11:30 am.  There is no need for money unless you want to purchase a snack at the event. Those staying will be fed.

Thanks for allowing your child to participate in this event. Keep practicing and take advantage of the after-school events. Any questions? Just ask.
